You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of. – Jim Rohn
It’s so easy to give up control of one’s life and blame someone else or something else.
There are so many things to blame – your parents, your ancestors, the generation you were born into, the circumstances you were born into, the year you were born into, astrology, the stars, the sun, the alignment of the numbers around your birth, the government, your boss, and so on.
As you can see, the list can go on and on. You would never ever have to take responsibility for anything ever again. I mean, how can you yourself be responsible for anything? There are so many different items affecting your life.
But something delightful and crazy happens once you decide, ‘No one else is responsible for your life. I’m the only one that matters. I’m the only one that can make or break things. I’m the only one that changes my life. No one else.‘
Once you take responsibility, you realize that you can change your life.
If nothing else matters in the scheme of things, except you, then you have nothing to blame, and no one else to change. You have control over yourself and nothing else. You can change yourself and you don’t need to worry about anyone or anything else.
The immense power that you gain from this realization! It changes lives.
It changed my life. As soon as I stopped playing the victim, and took absolute and utter control over everything! Everything!
Whatever I was unhappy about in my life, whatever it might be, I was responsible for it, and I was able to effect change in it.
That way, I slowly but surely started changing and working on each aspect of my life to move closer and closer to my ideal life. If I hadn’t made that decision, if I hadn’t decided that I am responsible and nothing else, I would have never effected any changes in my life.
