(Based on my reading of the book by Judith Anodea – Eastern Body, Western Mind: Psychology and the Chakra System As a Path to the Self)
The first chakra is all about the right to exist. It is about survival, and the basics; food, water, shelter. I have always had an issue with my existence. I have always had this feeling that I need to do something great or meaningful to have my life’s purpose validated. If I’m not here for a reason, then I’m here just because. And that seems like a very trivial, non-reason to me. I haven’t had a chance to make my imprint on the planet yet, or so I believe in my head. Thus, my life doesn’t make any sense.
My right to exist is constantly questioned by me.
It isn’t useful, of course, to ruminate on such matters. I have been lucky enough to be born in an amazing family, amazing country and amazing time. I’m lucky to have more stuff than 90% of the world’s population. But why? I ask myself, why was I lucky enough to born under such circumstances, whereas there are other people who were not so lucky. Who have been born into sex slave trades and female castration situations. What brings upon my birth in such a place, whereas there are others suffering more than I could ever suffer in a lifetime.
You could say it is karma.
I must have been Gandhi in my previous life because I have an amazing life right now.
You could say they have a different life journey than I do. Whatever it is, my first chakra is put under scrutiny. I feel that I do not feel secure in my existence unless I’m travelling. When I was travelling, I felt good about myself. I felt like I was doing something different and just by living an alternate lifestyle I proved my worth in gold.
I also do not feel secure in my life unless I am doing well financially, which is a first chakra marker.
This is my journey and I wanted to share my interpretation of where I am with my chakras, as they will continue to evolve as I continue to evolve myself.
